Finally!

After nearly a month of work, my top is finally done. Hot damn!

I put the last stitches on it last night, and although it's far from perfect, I love it anyhow. Plus, it's just really darned cute.
Also, as for the etsy shop, only two items in it so far, but I'm working on that, thanks to my new copy of Stitch 'N' Bitch Crochet. Hopefully, more things are quickly forthcoming. :) (Feel free to visit if you'd like.)

Progress and pride

Squee!!!!!! I've been plugging along on my little top, and it's coming together so well. I've even finished more than this picture shows, but you'll have to wait until I'm completely finished to see the whole thing. Be patient. :) I'm proud of myself for sticking out a project this lengthy, as usually I would have given up on it a long time ago, but I'm making myself keep going.
After I finish it, i'm going to start working on stuff for my etsy shop as well as for family and friends. since i'll be pulling three third shifts at work, I bet I can get ten to fifteen hats finished by the fourth of february. I'll link the shop once i've got a few things stocked.
I'm also proud that two people have either emailed me about or commented on the post for my Tam It All to Heck! pattern. Means other people are trying out something I designed. Gives me the happy pants. :) I'm also tickled that it's listed on Crochet Pattern Central in the hats section. Feels like validation. :)

Blast it all to heck.

I don't have quite enough of the Malabrigo to finish my hat. I wound up using a published pattern instead of my own as i knew I didn't have enough of it for that. And sadly, I only had a few rows left to do. I could cry.
Oh, well. Haytham's coming home tomorrow, and if I can find an online shop with anything close to white in stock, he can buy me some. Ha!

Malabrigo is love.

So, today I opened my mailbox to find the most awesome package from another member of the RAoK group on Ravelry. Two crochet hooks, an aluminum K (which is what I posted in my wishlist) and a beautiful blue acrylic glittery K, along with two balls of Malabrigo yarn. (It was leftover, but I've never seen this stuff in person, and WOW!) Color me happy. I'm even fighting the blessed wool reaction to make myself a hat with the yarn because it's so soft and pretty. Luckily, the reaction only seems to hit when I'm working with it. I can wear wool things fine (and I can hang with the sheep, so why the reaction when I work with the yarn is beyond me). YAY to the nth degree! I'll post a picture when I finish it. (And yeah, it's the hat pattern I mentioned last two posts.)

Eep!

I has an etsy shop!
Alabaster Alibi
I'm also hoping to be included in the next round of Ravelry designers allowed to sell patterns.

Which means that the new hat pattern i'm working on, yeah... It'll either be a pattern for sale on Ravelry, or only used for FOs to sell on etsy. I haven't decided yet. But hey, may as well use my mad hook skills to help pay the bills, right?

Damn.

I got my KnitFit yarn sample today. It's so soft and pretty, but thanks to the wool reaction I discovered, I can't do a thing with it. I could cry. So, I'm sending it off as part of the RAoK group on Ravelry, and hopefully it will find a happy home.
Dammit.
